84m Icon 280 refit

The 84m project 280 of Icon Yachts is the yard’s largest project to date and states the yard’s dna for extensive refits. An existing 76-metre hull and superstructure designed by Tim Heywood, has in 12 months time undergone a comprehensive redesign in collaboration with the British designer and Van Oossanen.

The with 8 meters lengthened hull and superstructure now includes a heli deck and larger infinity pool aft. Accommodation will be for 19 guests, or 12 under commercial rules. The accommodation quarters include a 126-square metre master stateroom on the upper deck which will include sea balconies.

Perry van Oossanen: “Lengthening the hull to 84 metres implied a completely new bow shape to accommodate a helipad, and a new bulbous bow. Also the aft section has been extended to house a large pool on the main deck and a beach club below. The 6.8m pool has a capacity of over 30,000 litres with a dump tank immediately below. The new bow and transom design were quite a challenge and involved adding around 165 tons of steel.”

The yacht will be LY3 compliant, the existing 1500kW CAT engines have been upgraded and will come with full warranty.  With the engine room housed completely on the under-lower deck, the lower deck offers space for the five guest cabins with direct access to the new beach club, spa and gym. There is a VIP suite on the starboard main deck.

Icon Yachts schedules the yacht to be completed summer 2020.
