51m MY MySky wins World Superyacht Award 2015

|

During the World Superyacht Awards on May 9th in Amsterdam, organized by Boat International Media, MySky was chosen as the winner for the category displacement motor yacht of 500 to 1299 GT. Van Oossanen was at the basis of the project with the naval architecture work for this 51m steel and aluminium motor yacht that was launched exactly one year before by Heesen yachts.

The innovative sophisticated high-gloss interior interior was designed by Erick van Eegeraat on request of the owner. The jury valued particularly the owner`s comments who explained how his philosophy had influenced the interior style and layout of the yacht. The yacht’s exterior lines are from Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, with as most eye-catching feature the ‘wall of glass’ created by flush-mounted tinted windows thermo-bonded to the superstructure.

The jury also greatly admired the quality of all aspects of the yacht`s construction and performance, including a stated range of 5,400 nautical miles at a cruise speed of 10 knots as a direct result of Van Oossanen`s hull technology.

Van Oossanen also congratulates Heesen yachts, Omega architects and Erick van Eegeraat for the interior design with this winning result.
