Van Oossanen received a commission from Mulder Shipyard for the naval architecture work for this new 34 metre motoryacht – their largest build to date. With British design agency Claydon Reeves being responsible for interior and exterior design, this custom steel displacement yacht was built to superyacht standards.
MY Solis is a 34 meter displacement motor yacht classed under RINA. She measures app. 320 GT and is constructed out of a steel hull and an aluminum super structure.
The owner’s vision of the yacht called for extremely high comfort levels, both at sea, but also at anchor and in the harbor. Comfort at sea means the design of a hull form that cuts smoothly through the waves, and does not require high engine power in order to run at an economical cruising speed. Comfort at anchor means low levels of noise and vibrations and good roll stabilization.
The steel hull construction has been optimized in order to eliminate the transport of vibrations through the hull. The fine entry of the bow gives her the required comfort at sea. The interior has been developed totally floating and free-standing from the construction, resulting in very high comfort levels contributing to a relaxing experience onboard.
MY Solis is designed and constructed for unlimited navigation – a true go-anywhere type of vessel – which is much unlike many other vessel in this size range.
Built in an incredibly short period, to very high standards, she was well within its weight budget, and the comfort, stability properties and seaworthiness is of the highest standards found in its class.
