As part of a major research effort into energy saving devices, Computational Fluid Dynamics calculations were carried out for the R–class vessels of Wagenborg shipping. Multiple calculations were done on both model and full scale. In addition, model tank tests were performed and extrapolations to full scale ware determined. Agreement between the computations and tests on model scale were found to be good.
