The project for the Evolution 50 consisted of 2 parts. The first part involved an optimization of the design from a resistance and propulsion point of view, using our in-house developed powering performance prediction program YachtPower. This resulted in a number of recommendations regarding hull form, shaft line and appendage design. The second part involved a free-surface CFD analysis for a new hull, including a final resistance and propulsion calculation.
