Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations were carried out for a quadruple screw, 50 m axe bow vessel, with a speed capability of 30 knots, designed by Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem.
The purpose of these calculations was to determine the resistance of the vessel and to check the alignment and positioning of the hull appendages, and the calculation of the wake field at each of the propeller locations for use by the propeller designer.
